Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from March of 2023.
Success also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
